how to package your wedding flowers safely for posting
Youāve tied the knot, kept your flowers hydrated, and chosen your preservation style - now itās time to get your gorgeous wedding flowers safely in the post!
Proper packaging is crucial to ensure your bouquet arrives at the studio looking fresh, undamaged, and ready to be transformed. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to pack your flowers securely for transit.
Ā
Step 1: Secure the Stems
Start by wrapping the bottom of your stems in a damp piece of kitchen roll. This keeps the flowers hydrated during their journey. Once wrapped, tightly cover the damp paper with tinfoil to lock in the moisture and prevent leaks.
Ā
Step 2: Choose the Right Box
Select a sturdy cardboard box that is the ideal size for your bouquet:
Not too small: It needs to be big enough so that your petals don't get squished or crushed against the sides.
Not too large: It should be snug enough to prevent the bouquet from sliding or tossing around wildly during transit.
Ā
Step 3: Cushion the Empty Space
Fill any empty gaps inside the box with packing paper or extra kitchen roll to act as a buffer.
Important Tip: Please avoid using bubble wrap or plastic wrapping! Plastics can trap heat and cause your flowers to sweat, which can ruin them before they even reach the studio.
Ā
Step 4: Don't Forget Your Name!
Before you seal up the box, make sure to include your name somewhere inside or clearly written on the outside. This ensures that when your package arrives, I know immediately who these beautiful blooms belong to!
Some weeks, I can receive 8+ flower deliveries so it's really important you include your name.
