fresh vs dried flowers: which should i send?

which should you send for preservation?
When it comes to preserving your wedding flowers, one of the most common questions is whether you should send your blooms fresh straight after the wedding, or dry them yourself first.
Both methods can lead to stunning keepsake pieces, but they serve different situations. Here is a quick guide to help you decide which option is right for you!
Fresh Flowers: The Ultimate Choice
If possible, sending your wedding flowers fresh right after your big day is always the gold standard.
The Look: Fresh flowers capture your bouquet at its absolute peak - vibrant, plump, and full of natural life. When dried professionally in the studio using specialist equipment, they retain their gorgeous 3D shape and structure best.
Best For: Brides who have planned ahead, booked their preservation spot in advance, and can ship their bouquet within a day or two of the wedding.
Dried Flowers: Perfect for Later or DIY Keepsakes
If you didn't book preservation before the wedding, or if you've had your bouquet sitting in water for a week, sending them fresh is no longer an option. Instead, you'll want to dry them first.
The Look: Drying your flowers at home (such as hanging them upside down) causes them to shrink slightly and take on a vintage, antique aesthetic. While they change colour and texture a bit, they still make breath-taking, sentimental frames or resin arrangements.
Best For: Brides ordering preservation after their wedding day, people who want to preserve a bouquet that is already several days old, or those who dried their flowers themselves as a memento and want to turn them into art later.
Which One Should You Choose?
Choose Fresh If: You are shipping your flowers immediately (next working day) after your wedding and have secured your booking in advance.
Choose Dried If: Your wedding has already passed, your flowers are already a few days old, or you are shipping them from afar and want to prevent them from rotting in transit. (Note: please to contact me first if you're booking after your wedding day!)
